Tube chair by Joe Colombo for Cappellini.
A radical and iconic piece of furniture, the Tube chair was designed by Joe Colombo in 1969. At the time, the Italian architect and designer shifted his focus from traditional single furniture units to developing versatile and modular pieces in response to the changing social conditions of the 1960s.
Made from four hollow cylinders of differing diameters, the Tube chair is an avant-garde cross between a chaise longue and a canapé. Padded and upholstered on the exterior for comfort, the tubes can be freely interchanged to create new and exciting silhouettes.
Entirely flexible, the contemporary seat allows one to reflect on individual needs and tastes. You can change the structure to suit your space, regardless of whether you’ve moved houses or changed your style.
