Race designed progressive and enduring furniture. His work was critically acclaimed and awarded.

Over a short time frame, Ernest Race embraced formed plywood and solid wood seating, cast recycled aluminium, organic, flowing upholstery designs and skeletal steel rod structures.

Race was a pioneer in steel rod furniture manufacturing techniques – The Rocker is another example of how he took advantage of the material’s flexible form.
