France chair by Finn Juhl for House of Finn Juhl.
Designed for the American market in 1956, the France chair has an organic form that epitomises Finn Juhl’s modern design. With a focus on separation, the clean lines of the frame resonate well with the gently curved, almost floating upholstered seat and back, expressing lightness and stability.
The France chair was among the earliest examples of wooden Scandinavian furniture designed with mass manufacture in mind. As a result, the chair has relatively few components and thus maintains a minimal, ergonomic form.
